Kanda’s sound is a dose of pure sweet-ass electro-pop goodness. Backed by their trusty laptop and blessed with an ear for brilliantly catchy indie songcraft, the Portland-based duo are poised to rule your heart, ears and iPod.
Originally hailing from New York, Kanda got their start playing clubs in Manhattan and Brooklyn. After releasing their debut full-length on the now infamous 555 recordings, they decided to venture forth from the Big Apple and embarked on a 3 month tour with fuzz-pop legends Boyracer. While touring, the two decided to take a one day break from rockin’ and kick it vacation style in Portland, OR. Kanda soon realized that Portland was the place they needed to be, so they loaded up their big teal Cadillac headed out West to their new home, which graces the cover of "All the Good Meetings are Taken".
Now Kanda has teamed up with Bop Tart Records to release their sophomore album. Track after track of shimmering hook-laden indielectro unfolds, proving that they’ve got what it takes to move even the most immovable feet.
Whether witnessing the awe-inspiring spectacle of their live show or drooling over their recorded selections, the catchy sound of Kanda is sure to cause murmurs in your heart and tingles below your belt.
